What makes a good midfielder?
There are plenty of interesting threads about this if you use the search function in the forum section. in fact theres one that was started not a few weeks ago you should be able to find for various veteran opinions. that said, ill give my thoughts. mids are the hardest players to find because they need most of the skills. i generally develop mids through early maxings of tackling or shooting.
speed, stamina, and control are musts (like any player on the pitch) so i train them to 7 or 8 in these. if a player maxes in shooting i put him on passing and a bit of aerial passing to make him an attacking wing, if a player maxes early in tackling i put him on passing and make him a defensive mid.
the skills i consider minimal for a starting mid would be:
control 8
speed 7
stamina 7
intelligence 6-8
passing 7
aerial passing 5
